The fact is, that there are no regulations surrounding medical tourism and very few legislative initiatives or international funding options to develop a destination as a health tourism destination. The EU has provided funding to several destinations for marketing and business development, yet the efforts seem less than sustainable for an emerging market against more prominent medical destinations. This open forum explores the various initiatives around the world and what type of collaboration might produce greater results. Participants from Latin American, Asian, Middle East and Europe will be sharing their visions for 2020.
